Cot, a quick movie of a newly hitched Maharastrian few experiencing a creaky sleep, is a tad too long and ripe with part play вЂ“ no pun meant. It’s designed up to now another caricatured joint-family setup, but one that’s obligated to confront an even more intimate, pressing problem rather than boringly broad home politics. The characters seem like theyвЂ™re in a detergent opera, their ideas are vivid and heightened, but their situation is inescapably personal вЂ“ very nearly just as if the director made a decision to вЂњexposeвЂќ the actual issues of the saas-bahu environment within these stylistic parameters.
